Composition
The Committee consists of six permanent members and six substitutes, including:
- three Commission members;
- three external members.
External members are designated because of their expertise in the sector, viz.:
- expertise in public statistics;
- expertise in legal support of the processing and exchange of statistical data;
- expertise in data protection with a statistical purpose.
The Committee also has additional members with a purely advisory vote:
- the General Director of the Statistics and Economic Information service;
- the Data Protection Officer of the General Direction for Statistics and Economic Information.
The Commission's President will chair the Committee. In case he is absent or has prior engagements, the Commission will designate a member as President.
The external members of the Committee remain to be appointed. For the time being, the Commission possesses the Committee's competences.
