A politician sent me a personalized letter during his electoral campaign. As a citizen, how can I concretely exercise my right to object?
You have to submit a dated and signed request to the controller (in this case: the politician having sent the personalized letter). Because electoral propaganda is considered as direct marketing, you do not have to give a reason.
The politician has to reply within one month, explaining how he complied with your request (deletion of your data, …). If he does not reply or if you are not satisfied with the reply, you can contact the Commission, which will try to mediate.
